It was early Monday morning, March 10th, and we were excited to be on our way to South Padre Island, a spring-breakers paradise with its beautiful beaches, warm Gulf waters, and wild night life. This was the destination for ten of our volunteers who were ready for a week of meeting with and witnessing to young people of all types from all over the country.

The trip to the Island was smooth and arriving late in the afternoon, we were eager to unpack, set up, and start scouting out the area. Our friends from Houston arrived in their “Prophet Bus”, an old school bus converted into a RV/meeting room and it was soon filled up with people interested in our message. With music, video presentations and lively conversations, the witnessing went late into the night but proved to be worth it as several people prayed to receive Jesus.

The next day the sun was out and we were all anxious to get out to the beach to meet more young people and pass out “strange truths”, a Christian publication with a Godly perspective on topics such as religion, politics, and economics.

During the day we invited anyone interested to come to a Bible study we held that night on the topic of sharing your faith with others—also called witnessing. We were happily surprised as the bus once again filled up with many who wanted to learn more about The Lord and His commission for us to “go into all the World and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mk 16: 15). The class was a success as all those who went were very excited and filled with a desire to be witnesses for Jesus.

The following day after a hour of reading on a variety of inspirational topics, we were once again off to the beach. This would be the last day on the Island so we wanted to get the most out of the day. Once again we were met with hundreds of youth, many of whom came to South Padre Island to drink, party, and get high. However as we began talking with them we realized a deeper hunger for the truth we had to share.

We were able to talk to many spiritually hungry young people and University Students who were interested in our work. Our way of life, living by faith etc was a good conversation starter and gave many of them the vision to do something more with their lives. That night was once again filled with Revolutionary Music, lively conversation, Bible studies, and soul winning as many more came to our camp interested in Jesus.

All in all the trip was a success with thousands of tracts passed out, lives changed, souls saved, and all of us returning home with a renewed inspiration to win the world for Jesus.
